Training & Support

We train professionals working with children and caregivers on nutrition, feeding, and disability.

SPOON trains and mentors local in-country service providers on feeding and nutrition for children vulnerable to malnutrition.

Service providers-often community health and rehabilitation workers, physicians, nurses and social workers–typically work at early childhood intervention centers, residential care institutions, community health clinics and facilities, and rehabilitation centers service families of children with disabilities.

Our approach combines in-person activities with online courses, webinars, and tutorials. Our training and ongoing support equips service providers to address the most critical areas of children’s health and to conduct developmental screenings for early identification of disabilities.

SPOON’s curriculum is available in-person, remote, or a combination.  It is translated into Hindi, French, Russian, and Croatian, and can be translated into other languages if needed. It covers 15 topics, such as:
