
John Ordway, JD

John is a retired U.S. Ambassador who spent 33 years in the U.S. Foreign Service, and who served as U.S. Ambassador to Armenia and Kazakhstan. His other Foreign Service assignments include eight years in Moscow, as well as Director of African Affairs at the National Security Council. After retiring, John had several short-term assignments temporarily heading U.S. Embassies in Europe and Asia, and was head of the U.S. delegation to the New START Treaty's Bilateral Consultative Commission that meets periodically with the Russian Federation. He and his wife, Maryjo, now live in Sacramento, California.
