The Orphan Nutrition Project
The Orphan Nutrition Project is pioneering an effort to identify and prevent common nutritional deficiencies that impede the health and development of young orphans in developing countries.
This project is the SPOON Foundation's primary focus for 2009/2010. The project is being piloted in the Republic of Kazakhstan (read more about this choice), and will serve as a model for advancement of orphan nutrition policy and procedures around the globe.

- For the first time ever, unite international experts to systematically study the nutritional needs of young orphans
- Help develop a proven nutrition and feeding program for young orphans that can be sustained by local government
- Train caregivers in orphan baby houses to meet nutritional needs
